[week 8] jessie
[Todomatsu barely makes it twelve hours after the trial before worry overrides giving people space, so when he doesn't see Jessie at breakfast on Monday, he heads over to her room straightaway. Since he can certainly empathize after that trial, though he would've been over to check in even if he didn't owe her one (or a few).]
Hey, wakey-wakey, it's me. Let me in, okay?
[Man, he sure hopes she's actually home. Not that he won't run around the ship looking for her, but he likes to limit the desperate searching to Fridays if he can help it]

Hurry up and get inside before someone sees you!
[She'll shut the door (and be nicer, probably) once he's inside, but she doesn't think her post-trial conversations are anyone's business right now.]
no subject
Didn't see you at breakfast. Thought Arbok might be hungry.
["how's it going" being the unspoken question here; even so he's obtained some coffee, fruit, and baked goods from yuno; honestly he's unsure if arbok can even eat that sort of thing but since when did what one said have to be 1:1 with what one meant?]
no subject
I wasn't avoiding breakfast, I was just...caught up in Furry Crossing, that's it. I'm just as fine as I always am.
[The problem with these rooms is that there's only one chair, so she'll hop back slightly and take a seat on her desk. Todomatsu can have the chair, and she is definitely taking a baked good while she can.]
Arbok is fine. I ordered him some food, of course. What about yourself?
[arbok is doing things but you know what i'm really tired of rping him so let's just assume he's there]
no subject
[of being here. of having people you trusted to be safe turning out to be the opposite. of not being able to sleep out of worry. of forgetting to water the trees enough in furry crossing to get those sparkly apples, fuck that game and its lack of proper notifications
he shakes his head and his expression clears, back light again]
Anyway. I didn't know if you wanted to, I dunno, talk, or anything.
no subject
[She almost drops her baked good while she's busy talking and there are a few crumbs around her mouth because she's not always as dignified as she wants people to thinks she is.]
We need to think about this week, not last week!
no subject
Uh-- Okay? Uh, if you're sure?
no subject
[Except she's the one bringing up Shelley, whoops.]
We have to be vigilant this week! We can't let anyone get to us.
[...
. . .
. . . . . .]
Thank you for the breakfast.
no subject
[he let's it sit, eventually looking away]
...No problem about breakfast. Yuno made the stuff, there's plenty if you want more later.
[he looks back, frowning a bit, though he may not realize that he's doing it]
When do you think all this ends?
no subject
[Jessie looks at the pastry.
She sets it down and slides it off her desk and into the trashbin. Sorry, Yuno, except she doesn't want to eat anyone someone else made.]
I can't say for sure. When we stop Alice, or when you and I are the last two standing, probably.
no subject
[he is pretty sure it is probably not made of another human??? not this early in the week, anyway]
...Right. Any time now.
[he even attempts to sound like he believes this, because that is friendship]
no subject
[She doesn't really want to think she would be, but...hey, at least she ate it when she thought it was from Totty?]
We can't keep going like this. We're losing too many people. It's ridiculous!
no subject
[perhaps he should have thought of that before chowing down himself, whoops]
If no one can get to wherever Alice is and shut her down, it's over. We're all just sitting ducks.
no subject
[She is the one powering the ship, isn't she? Well, they'll find out what that's like later this week.]
Let's talk about something else. I'm tired of talking about Alice all the time.
no subject
[but most of the stuff happening on a daily basis is all about alice? usually facilitating others dying and/or hitting betray?]
Um, so after all this, do you think you'll be ready to catch that pikachu thingie? Or will you be on to bigger and better quarry?
no subject
[She laughs! They should be the topic of all the fashion gossip.]
Catching Pikachu will only talk me about three seconds. After that, we'll get a promotion, and it'll be back to being Team Rocket. What about you? Are you going to do sappy, huggy things with your brothers?
no subject
[honestly, is anyone here known for anything good? ...that said, being the top of cradle fashion is pretty easy, though we could possibly organise a contest to make it official]
Gross, no. Half of them would talk too much and ruin it, and the other half don't deserve the encouragement. --Not that I'd be interested in anything with them, anyway!
[this is a blatant lie; there is little he'd like to do more than spend an evening with them dining and dashing at Chibita's, then curling up to sleep between his eldest brothers but no point in worrying about that now]
Are you going to take a vacation or anything when you get back?
no subject
[Let's always doxx Marinette. She doesn't entirely believe Todomatsu, but she'd answer just like him if she was asked about James and Meowth. She'd love to be sitting beneath a bridge, no money and only one cup of noodles between them, rain falling while they huddle together to not freeze to death.]
It depends on how big my promotion is, of course. I'd love to hit the Seafoam Islands or visit Goldenrod for some shopping! [And here's where we have a "girls just want to have fun" montage of Todo and Jessie on a shopping spree.] But if you aren't going to talk to your brothers much, what ARE you going to do, Todomatsu?
no subject
[shrug, who even knows what happens there other than baguettes.]
...I'll figure something out. I know a guy with a car, maybe I can con him into taking me on a hot springs trip, with fancy crab dinner. It looks like such a blast in the travel brochures!
no subject
[But then one day Kalos will exist...]
That doesn't sound bad! I'd have loved to take a trip away from this place. You, me, Shel...

no subject
[but yes, he frowns, he figured the conversation would head back here eventually]
I don't know. I mean, I do know, but... It just seems like there had to be a better way. I wish she would've said something.
no subject
[???? Is that a helpful reason to rope Todomatsu into this hypothetical pilgrimage to the underworld?]
no subject
[as if osomatsu wouldn't be there running the place...]
no subject
[basically in this hypothetical scenario, Totty is coming willingly or Jessie is shoving him in first...]
no subject
[in his hypothetical scenario, she is Jack Bauer and he is Chloe, safe at home in the office and away from eternal torture]
no subject
It doesn't matter now, does it. Shelley thought no one could help her. Maybe I wasn't a good enough fr...friend to her. I don't have very many of those.
no subject
...
[he gingerly places a hand on her arm? he keeps it light, not knowing if it's unwelcome, but--he's not all that great at comfort to begin with, so he just goes with the kind of stuff he'd want for himself.]
Maybe...you were a good enough friend to her that she didn't want to get you mixed up in anything.
no subject
[Please explain, Hot Totty.]
no subject
no subject
[She wilts a little.]
There was one time...the time I found out James was obscenely wealthy, I left him behind because I thought he didn't need me or Team Rocket anymore. I didn't want to get in the way of his happiness, so Meowth and I set down the road ourselves.
